Q: What Is the Tallest Building in Kansas City?

One Kansas City Place, 1200 Main, is the tallest building not only in Kansas City but in Missouri, said Steven Lebofsky, a development specialist for the Kansas City Development Department. The 42-story building stands 626 feet, he said. Forty stories are office space and two are retail. The building, completed in 1988 at a cost of $140 million, has 890,000 square feet and space for 1,250 cars. The city's second-tallest building is the Town Pavilion, 1111 Main. It's 38 stories high and 590 feet tall.
