Face-Lift on Baltimore
-
Description
-
The Union Carbide Building and the former Cosby Hotel building (also known as the Lane Blueprint Building), near and at 9th and Baltimore are currently being considered for a $32.2 million redevelopment plan by developer Rick Powell. "Powell's redevelopment proposal would combine the lower three floors of the art deco-style Union Carbide building with the three-story LaRue Building, a vacant, old printing plant next door, to create 30,000 square feet of office space. The upper floors of Union Carbide would be converted into 28 condominiums." Powell also wants to renovate the Cosby Hotel and convert it to possibly law offices.
