Wolferman's, known for its English muffins, has been acquired by Harry & David Holdings Inc., a specialty foods retailer. They acquired them from Williams Foods Inc. of Lenexa, Kansas, who had acquired Wolferman's in 1999 from the Sara Lee Corp. "Besides its well-known muffins, Wolferman's sells other breakfast gift items through its catalog and Web site." Wolferman's was founded in 1888 in Kansas City and started making the muffins in 1910.
