Following the death of Jesse James, the resolution commends Missouri Governor Thomas Crittenden, Kansas City Police Commissioner Henry H. Craig, and Clay County Sheriff James Timberlake, "for breaking up and so nearly destroying the notorious Jesse James Band of outlaws."
