Photograph of the La Belle Building at 1718-26 West 39th Street in the late 1980s. Virgil's Cafe, which opened in 1944, World Spirits liquor store, and Loma's Jewelry occupy the ground-level storefronts. The building was destroyed by fire on November 7, 1990, and was replaced by a one-story commercial strip and parking lot.
