Portrait of William P. Wilbur, a Lieutenant in the U. S. Army. Wilbur was born on September 10, 1917, in Miami, Florida, and in 1928, his family moved to Kansas City, Missouri. In February 1941, Wilbur enlisted in the U. S. Army and he died on July 27, 1943, while in combat at the Rendova Island during the campaign for the capture of the Munda Air Field.

Portrait of William Boschert Shea, a Lieutinent in the U.S. Army. Shea was born May 5, 1919, in Kansas City Missouri, and attended Southwest High School, Rockhurst College, and the University of Missouri. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1941, and was commissioned a bomber pilot in 1942. He was killed in a collision of two bombers on September 24, 1942, while training in Arizona.

Portriat of William Allen Sarver, a Lieutenant in the U. S. Army. Sarver was born on January 31, 1920, in Kansas City, Missouri, and attended Central High School. Upon graduation he played semi-professional baseball in Amsterdam, New York, and enlisted on November 2, 1941. He attended Officer's Training School in July 1942, and was married to Marian Smith on December 9, 1942. He was sent to Germany and died while in battle at a German outpost on April 6, 1945.
