Image of the building used to house the Kansas City Public Library before the 9th and Locust location was opened in 1897. The building shown here once stood at 8th and Oak streets. The library was located on the first floor, and the offices of the Kansas City Board of Education were located on the second floor of this building. It was later known as Colonial Hall.
