Title: Map of the Pottawattamie Reserve Lands in Kansas Belonging to the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe R.R. Co.
Description: Map of an area just west of Topeka, Kansas comprising the Pottawatomie Reserve in Kansas. Key states, Blue Tracts are Indian Allottments; Red Tracts are Sold Lands. Major roads are indicated, as well as two railroad lines. Towns in evidence are St. Mary's Mission, Newbery, Rossville and Silver Lake.

Title: Delaware Lands Belonging to the Union Pacific Rail Way Company, Eastern Division
Description: Map of ceded Delaware lands in Kansas, which the Union Pacific, Eastern Division was selling to settlers at the time of the map's creation. Residences of individuals, apparently tribal officials, are indicated, as well as the Council House, the Agency, and the village of Secondine, just east of Grinter Ferry. Train stations along the Kansas River to Lecompton are shown, as well as some major roads. In evidence are the villages of Tonganoxie and Sarcoxiville, and the the towns of Oskaloosa, Lawrence, and DeSoto. An inset map shows the route of the Union Pacific past Topeka and Junction City, down the Smoky Hill Fork.

Description: Reprint of a map appearing opposite the first page of the first chapter of Josiah Gregg's _Commerce of the Prairies_ (New York: Henry G. Langley, 1844). Map shows westward routes, locations of Native American tribes in the middle west and western United States in 1844, and some particular notations probably referring to details of Gregg's narrative.

Description: Map showing area immediately west of the Missouri River, in present-day Doniphan, Atchison, and Leavenworth counties, Kansas. The right-hand side of the page is north. Map shows Indian lands, including the Iowa lands, Iowa Reserve, Sac and Fox lands recently ceded, Kickapoo Reserve, and "Half Breed lands" (i.e. Indians of mixed descent). Indicates many creeks and some towns (e.g. Fort Leavenworth, Atchison, Doniphan, Saint Joseph). The agency is indicated near Wolf River. Ink on lined paper, signed by Major Daniel Vanderslice, who served as Indian Agent from 1853 until Lincoln became President in 1861.
