It is titled "Holding Down a Town Lot, Guthrie, April 22, 1889" and shows two settlers watching over their lots in what will be the town of Guthrie, OK. The gentleman in the foreground smoking the pipe is identified as P. Pearson (Peter Pearson), behind him is Dr. Acker; both men were friends of the photographer from Arkansas City, KS.
