An old post card pictures a stone bridge over Brush Creek and a section of the newly built Rockhill Road. There is little traffic, only a lone vehicle, horse-drawn. The high bank and rock retaining wall above the creek are shown in great detail. The wall would seem to assure adequate protection against high water. An old souvenir booklet published by the park commissioners in 1920 states that Rockhill Road (from 45th to Meyer) was acquired between the years 1909 and 1913 at a cost of $12,377.80. The boulevard, completed in 1920, cost $768.92 for construction. The card was mailed from Kansas City in July 1912 to Florence Keller, Deep River, Iowa, from her brother, Walt.
