Portrait of Charles Edward Epp, a 2nd Lt. in the U. S. Marine Air Corps. Epp was born on September 20, 1923, in Kansas City, Missouri, and enlisted in the Navy V-5 program in June 1942. He was called to active duty in September and after earning his wings, he was transferred to the U. S. Marine Air Corps. He died on August 30, 1943, during a practice flight with his Bomber Training Unit.
