Portrait of Charles O. Rogers, a Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class in the U. S. Coast Guard. Rogers was born on December 14, 1907, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Mr. and Mrs. William H. Rogers. The Rogers family moved to Kansas City in 1909. Rogers was married to Rose Gerig Krumps on October 20, 1933, and enlisted in the U. S. Coast Guard on April 29, 1942. He died on August 29, 1944, while in route to his Coast Guard boat in New Orleans after being struck by a civilian vehicle.
