Photograph circa 1980s of the front, south-face, of the single family home at 3218 Gladstone Boulevard. Construction on the home was completed around 1911 for Robert A. Long, a wealthy lumber company magnate and philanthropist, and his family. Designed by architect Henry Hoit, it was called Corinthian Hall. In 1978, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places as the R.A. Long Residence and in 1997, as part of the Scarritt Point North Historic District. It was placed on the Kansas City Register of Historic Places as part of the Scarritt Point Historic District in 1983. Long's daughters donated the entire estate - mansion, carriage house, conservatory and gate house - in 1934 to the Kansas City Museum Association for use as a public museum, which opened in 1940. Located in the Scarritt Point neighborhood.
