Portrait of Joseph Hartwell McPeek. He was born on September 5, 1924, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Charles and Ada McPeek. He attended East High School and entered the service March 3, 1943. He was with Patton's 3rd Army, driving cars and jeeps for the military. He was injured while driving a jeep pursuing German soldiers, dying June 14, 1945. Services were held in Kansas City on December 4, 1948, and he is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery.
