Kansas City Public Library: Thirty-third Annual Report
-
Description
-
1915-1916: 3326; 1916-1917: 2158; 1917-1918: 1610; 1918-1919: 1447; July 1, 1919-June 30, 1920: 2164. Minnie Neal, then in the circulation department, says that when player piano rolls were returned, they were checked for damage and if torn, were repaired. At times patrons substituted rolls. No librarian's reports are available for the years following, but the belief [in March 1957] is that they were withdrawn during the years 1920-1921. The method of disposal is not now known, but in March 1957 a patron reported that he had recently bought player piano rolls at the Salvation Army store bearing the Kansas City Public Library stamp.
