Mr. and Mrs. Hofman, friends who were playing bridge with the Bennetts when Mrs. Bennett shot and killed her husband John G. Bennett on September 29, 1929, in a quarrel over the bridge game. Mrs. Bennett was acquitted. Photo appeared in the "Kansas City Journal-Post," Thursday, February 26, 1931.
