The image appears to be taken from a building on the site currently occupied by Ilus W. Davis Park, which was cleared in 1994 and developed into a park and civic mall shortly thereafter. The United States Courthouse building, at 9th and Grand, can be seen in the lower left of the image. The Broadway Bridge is visible at far left, and the Heart of America Bridge, which opened in 1986, at right.

Title: View from Paseo High School
Description: View looking west toward the Plaza from the Paseo High School building at 4747 Flora Avenue in the 1980s. Designed by school district architect Charles A. Smith, the school was completed in 1926. It was closed in 1990, to be replaced with a new building to house the Paseo Academy for Fine and Performing Arts magnet school on the same site.

Liberty Memorial, the KCPT broadcast tower, and the BMA Tower are among the structures visible in the background of the image. Buildings on the blocks at the lower left of the image were later demolished to make way for the construction of the Kansas City Star printing building and to create additional surface parking lots.

Title: Ward Parkway Apartment Buildings
Description: Photograph of apartment and condominium buildings along Ward Parkway during the 1980s. The buildings, on the south side of Brush Creek, stand between Wornall Road and Main Street. Halls department store, at the intersection of Wyandotte and Ward Parkway, is also pictured. The Sulgrave and Regency high rise buildings, at the rear of the image, were built in the early 1960s. The brick apartment buildings lining Ward Parkway, including the Locarno and Casa Loma Apartments, were built between 1923 and 1929.
