In 2018, the church changed its name to Kansas City United Church of Christ. Located in the Armour Hills neighborhood.

Article reports that the Invanhoe nieghborhood has gained a new corner grocery store, World Harvest Learning Center/Good Natured Local Market, at 3400 Woodland Avenue. It is reported that the building was built in the 1920s as a Jewish funeral home, that the faith-based grocery store is a partnership with World Harvest Ministries, and that it was started by Pastor Terry Glenn, and Good Natured Family Farms. It is indicated that the church will manage the store's daily operations. The article states that the store will sell hormone-free meats and fresh produce, including locally grown cabbage, tomatoes, peaches, jars of dill pickles, and apple butter. The store partners state that they hope to influence the neighborhood to adopt healthful eating habits.

Photograph of a convent and church at 1409 E. Meyer Boulevard in the early 1980s. The building was dedicated in 1948 by the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, and was purchased in 1984 by the Youth for Christ organization for use as a residence facility for unwed mothers. In 2002 the building was purchased by the Franciscan Sisters who returned the building to use as a convent called Convent of Christ the King.

Photograph of St. James Baptist Church at 43rd and Washington Streets in the early 1980s. The church and the house at the right edge of the image are, as of 2018, the only pre-1940 structures remaining on the block, which was part of the historic Steptoe neighborhood, a pre-Civil War African-American neighborhood in the Westport area. The remaining land was reused for the new Kansas City Fire Department Station 19 and a large parking lot.

Photograph of apartment buildings at 432-34 & 436-38 West 47th Street in the early 1980s. The buildings, along with all other buildings on the block bound by 47th Street, 46th Terrace, Pennsylvania Avenue, and Broadway, were demolished to make way for the Valencia Place office building project, the groundbreaking for which took place in November 1997. The Seventh Church of Christ Scientist, on the northwest corner of 47th and Pennsylvania, can be seen at the left edge of the image.

The church was dedicated in October 1896, and the congregation has been called the oldest in Kansas City, initially meeting in the home of William Chick in 1836, and the original building on the site constructed in 1853.

Photograph of the Central Presbyterian Church at the southeast corner of Armour and Campbell in the early 1980s. The congregation, founded in 1866, has resided at this location since 1921. The Wrennmoor apartment building, at 915 East Armour, can be seen standing to the east of the church. The building opened in 1927, but was condemned after multiple arson fires in 1988. It was demolished in 1995.

Photograph of the front stonework, inscribed by the architectural firm Wilder & Wight which designed the church, dated 1907, on Our Lady of Perpetual Help Redemptorist Church at 3333 Broadway Boulevard. Construction on the church began in 1907; it was dedicated in 1912. It was placed on the Kansas City Register of Historic Places as Redemptorist Church Complex in 1987.
