It was built ca. 1911 and served as a church after the theater closed in 1952. It was demolished in 2015, after the roof collapsed in 2014. In the Scarritt Point neighborhood.

The commercial and professional social building, with a third floor dance hall, opened in 1921 and served as a hub of Kansas City's black community. After several decades of decline, a renovation project, converting the building into office space, began in 1979 and completed in 1981.
