Detailed article about the former Sunflower Army Ammunitions Plant including heritage photographs. The rural community of Prairie Center, Kansas, and approximately 150 surrounding farms were transformed into the ammunitions plant in 1942. It was called the Sunflower Ordnance Works and encompassed 10,747 acres. Manufacture of ammunitions at the Sunflower Amry Ammunitions Plant ceased in 1992. Since then it has been the center of controversial plans for its development.

Grace United Church is an ecumenical inner city congregation located in the Northeast area of Kansas City, Missouri. Built in 1907 as Grace Presbyterian, the building now also houses Independence Avenue United Methodist Church's congregation. The two congregations joined with Columbus Park Presbyterian Church in 1974 to form NEWS (Neighborhood Ecumenical Witness and Service) and continue to offer a variety of social services to the area. The deteriorating structure has brought volunteers from all over the United States to work on repairs.
