Discussion of racial discrimination in Johnson County, Kansas, and the Donald and Virginia Sewing family that was the first black family to move into Fairway, Kansas, in 1966. Includes picture of the Sewing family and of Ruth Shechter who moved to Fairway in 1958 and "immediately became a key figure in the struggle for civil rights and fair housing in Johnson County."
