Native of Ohio raised in Kansas City and becoming one of the first two teachers at Central High School in 1867 with students such as Burris Jenkins, Fred Wolferman, and Frank Wornall. Organizer of "the first PTA [parent-teacher association] in Missouri," namesake of the "Mary Harmon Weeks School at 4201 Indiana" Avenue, and resident of 3408 Harrison Street.
