Photos, illustrations, and information on John Calvin McCoy, or John McCoy (1811-1889), a native of Indiana arriving in the area in 1830 and responsible for establishing Westport in 1833. Opened a store the next year with goods delivered by steamboat. Secretary of the Kansas Town Company as the "first town lot subdivider." Also assisted the great gold discovery of John Sutter on the journey to California.

One side is divided into five sections that are labeled as such: Get Ready for a Greater Tomorrow, Progress through the Years, Join with the Men of Faith Vision and Pride in Kansas City's Future, Use Our Resources of Land Labor and Location, and Support Our Institutions for Area Service. The reverse side is an aerial view of downtown Kansas City with the slogan, "You Are Making the Future of Kansas City...Today!" written across the top. The poster contains several images of area business, industrial, cultural, and entertainment activities.

This series contains files on criminals of Italian descent suspected of having ties to organized crime, mafia, and mob activity in Kansas City. Items include: mug shots, photographs, KCPD and FBI records, short biographies, and newspaper clippings. While most of the documents are undated, many contain arrest records from the 1930s until the year 1950. This series is arranged alphabetically by surname.
