Biographical sketch of Leo Leslie, "one of the foremost builders and owners of handsome residences and fine business property in Kansas City," born in Massachusetts in 1856 and coming to Kansas City in 1879 as a dry goods merchant "under the firm name of L. N. Leslie & Company at No. 726 North Main street," with residence at 4057 Warwick Boulevard. Description of his later career, selling the firm to W. T. Matthews in 1886 and organizing the Suffolk Investment Company real estate development business, building the "handsome theatre, 'The Sam S. Shubert,' on [10th] street, between Baltimore avenue and Wyandotte street" in 1906, as well as several apartment houses and residences, etc. in Downtown and Midtown.
