The United States Courthouse building, at 9th and Grand, can be seen in the lower left of the image. The Broadway Bridge is visible at far left, and the Heart of America Bridge, which opened in 1986, at right.

Liberty Memorial, the KCPT broadcast tower, and the BMA Tower are among the structures visible in the background of the image. Buildings on the blocks at the lower left of the image were later demolished to make way for the construction of the Kansas City Star printing building and to create additional surface parking lots.
