On the left is the building at 901 Tracy Ave. Built in 1900, the building was Unity Inn's vegetarian restaurant and theater playhouse in 1925. At the time of the photograph, it housed a Salvation Army Thrift Store. Looking west, the First Church of Christ, Scientist tower, at 1117 East 9th, is visible. The Fidelity National Bank building, at 909 Walnut, can be seen in the background of the image.

Photograph circa 1980s of the building at 10 Northwest Richards Road, on the east side of the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport, built in 1931 as the TWA corporate headquarters. At the time of the photo, Executive Beechcraft had offices in this building; Executive Beechcraft was sold to BBA Aviation in 2007. The TWA Museum opened in this building in 2013. As of 2018, it also houses an airplane equipment maintenance and repair company and a chauffeur company.

Boulevard Manor & Cavalier Apartments

Photograph of the Boulevard Manor Hotel and Cavalier Apartment buildings on Armour between Troost and Forest in the early 1980s. The Cavalier building, at 1109 East Armour, was built in 1929, was known as the Ritz at the time of the photograph and was placed on the city's dangerous buildings list after a series of fires in the 1980s. It was demolished in 1996. Boulevard Manor, at 1115 East Armour, was built in 1923 as the Marquette Club, a Catholic men's community center and apartment complex. The building was taken over for use as a barracks by the Army during World War II, after which it returned to civilian residential use. The building was donated to the Urban League of Kansas City in 1970, and appears vacant with boarded-up lower level windows at the time of the photograph. Universal Lounge, a bar, appears in the background of the image at the southwest corner of Troost and Armour.

Photograph of the Boys Hotel building at 1601 Admiral Boulevard in the 1980s. The Boys Hotel served as a group residence for homeless, orphaned, and troubled young men in this facility built in 1911 (with a 1922 addition), until it was closed during the Depression. It reopened as Boys Club, a youth recreation center operated by the Community Chest, which operated from 1935 to 1960, when the facility became the headquarters of City Union Mission. City Union missing relocated in 1977, and the building was demolished in 1989.

Photograph of a house at 101 East Armour Boulevard in the early 1980s. The house, built for Sunshine Biscuits founder Jacob Loose in 1910, was designed by architect George Oakley Totten, but was converted to office use after the Loose family vacated the mansion in 1928. At the time of the photograph, the building the headquarters of the Operating Engineers Local 101 union. The building was sold to a new owner at auction in 1983.

Horace Mann School

Photograph of the Horace Mann School at 39th and Euclid Streets circa 1980. The building was designed by architect Charles A. Smith and completed in 1904. In a state of disrepair, it was closed by the school district in 1979 and placed for sale the following year. It operated as Brown-Caldwell Christian School from the early 1980s until circa 2007, when it was purchased, with the intention of residential redevelopment, by the Ivanhoe Neighborhood Association. It was damaged in an arson fire in December 2011, leading to its demolition.

Photograph of the west side of the Switzer School Annex building at 1810 Madison Avenue in the 1980s. The annex was built in 1958 to accommodate elementary students, and is linked to buildings east of Madison by a tunnel under the street. The Switzer/West campus closed permanently in 2006 and was sold for redevelopment as a residential property in 2015.

Photograph of the Benjamin Harrison School at 414 Wallace Avenue in the 1980s. The building was closed at the end of the 1981-1982 school year due to declining enrollment, and was placed for sale by the school district in 1983. A developer proposed turning into an indoor water park before it was purchased by Lutheran High School, which operated at the site from 1985-2005.
