Photograph of the Horace Mann School at 39th and Euclid Streets circa 1980. The building was designed by architect Charles A. Smith and completed in 1904. In a state of disrepair, it was closed by the school district in 1979 and placed for sale the following year. It operated as Brown-Caldwell Christian School from the early 1980s until circa 2007, when it was purchased, with the intention of residential redevelopment, by the Ivanhoe Neighborhood Association. It was damaged in an arson fire in December 2011, leading to its demolition.

The annex was built in 1958 to accommodate elementary students, and is linked to buildings east of Madison by a tunnel under the street. The Switzer/West campus closed permanently in 2006 and was sold for redevelopment as a residential property in 2015.

The building was sold circa 1981 for industrial/warehouse use.
