Description of his father, George Muehlebach, a native of Switzerland emigrating to Kansas City about 1858 as a saddlemaker before purchasing "the Helmreich Brewery, at the corner of Main and [18th Streets]" about 1870 and replacing it in 1881 with his own brewery.

The book contains a program of events, a list of committee members, an address to the people of Missouri concerning the celebration of Missouri's centennial, and a form of constitution and by-laws for local historical societies. The meeting took place at the Hotel Muehlebach. The address to the people of Missouri was delivered by Walter B. Stevens of the State Historical Society of Missouri.
