Description of his subsequent career with the Long-Bell Lumber Company, and other lumber companies until establishing his own business in 1904 with George A. Dascomb in Kansas City, with a branch lumberyard at 4811 Troost Avenue.

Biographical sketch of Clarence Hayman, president of the Forum Cafeterias of America, Incorporated, in the Fidelity Building, born in Iowa in 1881 and starting as a farmer in Johnson County, Kansas, before becoming "a cook in the home of W. R. Nelson, editor of the 'Kansas City Star.'" Description of his later career, serving as a cook in various hotels in Kansas and Missouri before establishing the Hayman Restaurant at 619 East 12th Street in 1911, moved in 1912 to 315 East 12th Street, and in 1913 establishing "the first Forum Lunch, at 707 East Twelfth Street," eventually becoming Forum Cafeterias.
