Article discusses the problem of the old West Junior High School at 1936 Summit. The building has stood partly empty and boarded up for almost a decade. Neighborhood residents would like to see the building, which is still owned by the Kansas City School District, transformed into something such as affordable housing and a market. The Family Conservancy and Mutual Help are lodged in the building.
