Obituary for Donald C. Gerhardt who died December 26, 2008, at Menorah Medical Center. He was born August 7, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Clemens P. Gerhardt and Felicitas C. Gerhardt. He went to work in his parent's fur business, Gerhardt Fur Company, and became CEO in 1951. "Gerhardt Fur Company was founded in 1924 in downtown Kansas City. The store was relocated to the Country Club Plaza in 1937." Donald Gerhardt retired in 1994 and the store closed. "Gerhardt Furs was considered to be one of the finest fur companies in the Midwest."

Obituary for Charles Eugene Waldron, Jr., who died on March 10, 2008. He was born May 19, 1909, and was the great-great-grandson of Kansas City pioneer Thomas A. Smart. Among other things he was a member of the first graduating class of Southwest High School, guarantor of the Starlight Theatre Association, charter member of the Carriage Club, and owner of Waldron Insurance Company for more than 65 years. "As a young boy, Charles had served as a Boy Scout aide to General John J. Pershing at the site dedication of Liberty Memorial in 1921, and he served as governor of the board of trustees of the Liberty Memorial Association from 1981 to 1991."

Obituary for John Ernest Dunn, Jr., who died on October 9, 2008. He was born on March 21, 1919, the son of Rose Bruening Dunn and John Ernest Dunn. Ernie, as he was known, grew up in Kansas City and after World War II and joined his father's business, the JE Dunn Construction Company, where he served as president from 1950 to 1974. He founded J. E. Dunn, Jr. and Associates in 1974 and retired in 1991.

George L. Mailliard, Sr., known as Mr. M., died on December 9, 2008. He owned Mailliard's Incorporated, a men and boys clothing store which began in the Prairie Village Shopping Center in 1954. Eventually there were several stores located in the Kansas City area. Mr. Mailliard was born on October 31, 1915. He leaves his second wife Viva and four children. Includes his picture.
