Book contains a short history of the Truman Medical Centers located on Hospital Hill in Kansas City, Missouri and in Lakewood in southeastern Kansas City. It is also the primary teaching hospital for the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine. In the early days, TMC Hospital Hill was known as Kansas City General Hospital and TMC East as the Jackson County Hospital. The book also states, "In 1976 Kansas City General Hospital and the Jackson County Hospital merged to form Truman Medical Center."
