Title: Music Hall Prepped For its Next 70 Years
Description: A $13.4 million renovation of the Music Hall is about to begin with completion in February, 2007. The Music Hall opened in 1935 with its art deco fixtures and styling. With the renovation the stage will be 15 feet deeper and much infrastructure will get modernized. "The theater's 2,400 seats will be replaced with slightly wider chairs and then realigned for better audience sight lines." The city will use the old seats elsewhere including the City Council's meeting chambers. Renovation design is being done by Helix Architecture + Design, Kansas City and Holzman Moss Architecture, New York.
