Paseo Boulevard
-
Description
-
Photos and information on the Paseo Boulevard (also known as "The Paseo"), one of the earliest and most dominant of Kansas City's boulevards in the park and boulevard system starting in the 1890s, with lakes, gardens, and walkways, etc. According to the "Boulevard Leaf-let," volume 2, number 1, April 1996, page 1: "What was to be later named The Paseo was initially considered a parkway rather than a boulevard. The Paseo ("paseo" meaning "walk" or "promenade") was named for the famous "Paseo de la Reforma" in Mexico City, an important roadway which cuts across that city's street system."
