The materials within the KCPL Reference Hard to Find (HTF) Collection were compiled by Kansas City Public Library reference librarians and staff members to provide an easy to access source of information concerning topics of local and regional interest. The collection primarily consists of newspaper and magazine clippings, pamphlets, brochures, other forms of printed material, and typed notecards.

"The city plans to erect a flashing neon or LED sign nearly two stories tall on the top of the building near the corner of 18th Street and the Paseo." The sign with its lights should be visible for a mile or more and will be seen from I-70 and the Power and Light District. The $823,000 project is to be paid for from bond and sales tax money and should be completed by Spring 2009. he design is by Moody Nolan Architects Inc.
