Discussion of the history and development of Winnwood Beach by Frank Winn approximately in 1912. The resort included three lakes, a water slide, picnic area, children's beach, roller coasters, and 300 building lots near the lakes. A boardwalk came later. The cover of this issue of the Sun Chronicle is a photo of Barbara Smith's painting of Winnwood Beach. After a series of mishaps, the park closed in the 1930s.

History of the development of the Winnwood Beach mural now hanging in the Clay County Courthouse Annex Building and the accompanying display case of photos and mementos. The mural was painted by Phil Stake under a $10,000 grant received October 1999. Winnwood Beach was often called the "Atlantic City of the West."
