-
Description
-
Charcoal portrait of Jesse James dressed in suit coat, shirt, and cravat. The drawing is signed by the artist. Below the signature is "Jesse James" written in different handwriting and black ink. It also has "(over)" to indicate a newspaper article attached to the back. There's no date for the article from the St. Joseph News-Press but probably is 1938 or 1939. Stacey may have used the picture in the article for this drawing. Most of the article is missing but is about the movie released in 1939 with Tyrone Power as Jesse James.
