The firm changed its name to City Bank and Trust Company in 1978. The Power and Light and Davidson buildings can also be seen in the background of the image, to the northwest.

On the left is the building at 901 Tracy Ave. Built in 1900, the building was Unity Inn's vegetarian restaurant and theater playhouse in 1925. At the time of the photograph, it housed a Salvation Army Thrift Store. Looking west, the First Church of Christ, Scientist tower, at 1117 East 9th, is visible. The Fidelity National Bank building, at 909 Walnut, can be seen in the background of the image.

The indoor shopping center included retail shops, restaurants, and other businesses. Designed by architect Clarence Kivett, Seville Square was renovated in the late 1970s from the Sears department store that stood on the site. Columbia Union National Bank can be seen in the background at left, facing Jefferson Street.

Construction began in 1922 and opened in 1923, this building was the first of J. C. Nichols' Country Club Plaza buildings, and was initially called the Suydam Building. At the far right of the image, construction is taking place on the dome and tower of a neighboring building.
