On the left is the building at 901 Tracy Ave. Built in 1900, the building was Unity Inn's vegetarian restaurant and theater playhouse in 1925. At the time of the photograph, it housed a Salvation Army Thrift Store. Looking west, the First Church of Christ, Scientist tower, at 1117 East 9th, is visible. The Fidelity National Bank building, at 909 Walnut, can be seen in the background of the image.

Photograph of the Seville Square shopping center, on the northwest corner of Nichols Road and Pennsylvania Avenue, in the late 1970s. The indoor shopping center included retail shops, restaurants, and other businesses. Designed by architect Clarence Kivett, Seville Square was renovated in the late 1970s from the Sears department store that stood on the site. Columbia Union National Bank can be seen in the background at left, facing Jefferson Street.

Photograph of the Mill Creek Building at 4634 J. C. Nichols Parkway, circa 1982. Jenkins Music Company and Safety Federal Savings are current tenants. Construction began in 1922 and opened in 1923, this building was the first of J. C. Nichols' Country Club Plaza buildings, and was initially called the Suydam Building. At the far right of the image, construction is taking place on the dome and tower of a neighboring building.

Photograph of the City National Bank building at 1801 Grand Boulevard circa 1980. The building was designed by architecture firm Holden, Ferris & Barnes and built in 1926 for City National Bank. From 1978 to 1981 it served as the headquarters for architecture firm Kivett & Myers and their parent company, HNTB. It became the operations center for Republic Bank in 1983. The building appears to be undergoing renovations in the photograph, with a dumpster parked out front, but it is unclear whether it is the 1978 HNTB renovation or the 1981 Republic Bank project.

Photograph of the Westport Bank building at the southeast corner of Westport Road and Broadway circa 1980. The bank originally opened in this location in 1906, and in 1978, the building underwent a $300,000 renovation aimed at creating a contemporary version of the building's original facade. The building was torn down in July 2018 for a mixed-use development project.

Belman Garage, at 3822 Main, was designed by the Hoit, Price, ; Barnes architectural firm and opened in 1925, and after renovations in 1986, became the home to the Unicorn Theater. The Madrid Theater is also visible further south on the street.

Livestock Exchange Building

Photograph of the Livestock Exchange building at 1600 Genessee Street in the early 1980s. The building opened in 1910 as offices for the surrounding Kansas City stockyards operation, and was later converted to general office use after the closing of the stockyards. Signs advertise a Boatmen's Bank branch and a snack shop as tenants of the building. Golden Ox restaurant stands at the south end of the building.
