Westside Residents Hold the Line on High-Rises
-
Description
-
Westside residents have won a battle in their fight against gentrification of their neighborhood. Downzoning the area from R-4 to R-1-B would prevent further development of high-priced, high-rise condominiums that are unaffordable to the areas primarily Hispanic and low-income residents. The next battle for the Westside Planning Committee will be a planned expansion of I-3 5 which would demolish the fire station near 20th and Jefferson as well as some houses.
