A memorial of polished, black granite honoring black veterans in all conflicts will be unveiled by the parks department and Enshriners on Sunday, September 12, 2010. Located in the median on The Paseo between 11th and 12th streets, the plaque reads: "This plaza is dedicated to honor black Americans who have served and are serving America with unsung distinction in our quest for freedom and peace around the world."
