Built to serve as the Kansas City branch of Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, the building was completed in 1916. At the time of the photograph, it still served as a Firestone outlet, with a retail operation on the first floor.

Photograph of the Vitagraph Film Exchange building at the southeast corner of 17th and Wyandotte in the early 1980s. Built in 1930 by Warner Brothers, the building was part of Kansas City's Film Row, an area focused on the film distribution industry. Warner Brothers continued to occupy the building into the 1970s, but an "Office Space for Lease" sign is posted at the time of the photograph.

Photograph of the City National Bank building at 1801 Grand Boulevard circa 1980. The building was designed by architecture firm Holden, Ferris & Barnes and built in 1926 for City National Bank. From 1978 to 1981 it served as the headquarters for architecture firm Kivett & Myers and their parent company, HNTB. It became the operations center for Republic Bank in 1983. The building appears to be undergoing renovations in the photograph, with a dumpster parked out front, but it is unclear whether it is the 1978 HNTB renovation or the 1981 Republic Bank project.

Photograph, from the 1980s, of the Orion Pictures building at the corner of 17th Street and Baltimore Avenue. 118 W. 17th Street was built in 1946 as the Film Delivery Building in an area called the Film District or Film Row; it was demolished in 2013 to create a parking lot. Next to it in the picture is Missouri Valley Electric Company which was started in 1924 and sold in 2003. An empty warehouse now, its address is 1640 Baltimore Avenue.
