Bridging Time
-
Description
-
Construction has begun on the Truman Road Bridge over the Blue River. It will cost $14 million for the project with $10 million coming from federal sources. "The project will repair the 1962 concrete span, which has been damaged by salt and water drainage since then. Repairs include replacement of the bridge deck and installation of a new drainage system that is connected directly to sewer lines. The new deck going in is also two and a half inches thick, adding a layer of protection to the support beams, scheduled to be cleaned and repainted." The bridge will be kept open during the work.
