Jane Fifield Flynn, local historic buildings preservationist, died on January 26, 2006, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was 81 years of age. She described herself as a "street-fighting preservationist" in her quest to save many of the city's historic structures. In 1975 she became administrator of the city's Landmarks Commission and led the commission for 12 years. She had been president of the Historic Kansas City Foundation board of directors, chairman of the Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, and board chairman of the Jackson County Historical Society. She was also an author and radio personality on the local Walt Bodine radio show on KCUR-FM. In addition to her preservation interests she served on the board of Friendship House/Catherine's Place and helped to raise money for it. She is survived by her husband Bob and daughter Janie.
