Article describes the creation of the Pink Panther animated character by Kansas City native Isadore "Friz" Freleng. Freleng was a 1923 graduate of Westport High, worked with Walt Disney at Kansas City Film Ad Company, and developed numerous characters for the Warner Brothers cartoon department, including Sylvester the Cat, Tweety Bird, Yosemite Sam (reported to be modeled on Freleng himself), and Porky Pig.

Article gives information on both Isadore "Friz" Freleng and Carl Stalling, two Kansas Citians who contributed the most to the Warner Bros.animation studio. Both worked early on for Walt Disney. Freleng co-created Porky the Pig,Yosemite Sam, the Pink Panther and put Tweety and Sylvester characters together in cartoons. Stalling "composed the scores for nearly all the cartoons released from 1936 to 1958" and created many of the familiar cartoon sounds.
