Description of his life and career as a native of Tennessee coming to Kansas City at the age of 18 "as freighter on wagon trains headed west" and later becoming founder of "the Moore Grain and Elevator Company" at 19th and Walnut Streets. Also a Union soldier in the Civil War until converting to the Confederacy in 1865 in Kansas City.

Freighter on the Santa Fe Trail after the war and builder of "the first Eagle flourmill at 19th and Walnut" Streets, with residences at 1622 McGee Street and later 2508 East 31st Street.
