It was later purchased by RKO and renamed the Empire Theater. It was renovated by AMC Entertainment and reopened in 2009 as AMC Main Street Theater, a first-run cineplex.

The Empire Theater, known henceforth as Mainstreet Theater will be a six-screen digital movie house with restaurant and bar. The Midland Theatre will serve as an alternative venue for acts not requiring the large crowd capacity of the Sprint Arena.
