Article describes two historic theaters that are being renovated as part of the Kansas City Power & Light District project. The Empire Theater, known henceforth as Mainstreet Theater will be a six-screen digital movie house with restaurant and bar. The Midland Theatre will serve as an alternative venue for acts not requiring the large crowd capacity of the Sprint Arena.
