Description

The Native Sons Scouts had set a goal of raising $400,000 for a large statue of Harry Truman to be at Union Station and to be dedicated on May 8, Truman's birthday. As it turns out the group had not submitted a formal proposal to the Union Station Preservation Advisory Committee which must clear any changes to Union Station. John Dillingham, former Native Sons president, started the statue project more than three years ago and passed it on to others. He would consider other places for the statue as in Penn Valley Park or across the street from the station.
