The materials within the KCPL Reference Hard to Find (HTF) Collection were compiled by Kansas City Public Library reference librarians and staff members to provide an easy to access source of information concerning topics of local and regional interest. The collection primarily consists of newspaper and magazine clippings, pamphlets, brochures, other forms of printed material, and typed notecards.

New Eastern Bluebird Trail at George Owens Nature Park

A new Eastern Bluebird Trail was installed at the George Owens Nature Park in Independence, Missouri. It consists of a series of nesting boxes created for bluebirds, the Missouri state bird. The trail is monitored and documented by volunteers from March through May.

Description of two new parks in Johnson County, Kansas, being planned by Bowman Bowman Novick. The Rieke Lake Site, located in De Soto, Kansas, will have three phases and includes a 28-acre lake with a small marina and walking trails and camping sites in the woods. The Cedar Niles Site, 957 acres in Olathe, will include equestrian trails, 16 acres of restored natural prairie, and a planetary-themed garden.
